Mechanical foot-operated log splitter for splitting firewood. This gadget doesn't need any electricity at all, so it's perfect for places like off-grid cabins or spots where getting power is a hassle. That makes it super quiet and safe to use. It's a lightweight 10 kg splitter that's easy to move around from one place to another.
You operate it by pressing down with your foot, which makes the split rail's counterpiece push the wood against the splitting wedge by one stroke's worth. When you lift your foot, the counterpiece tightens itself to the next stroke. Repeat this motion until the wood splits all the way through. Bigger, branchy logs might need several presses, while smaller, branch-free ones snap with just one.
With this lever technique, you can get 12kN (1.2T) of pressure, letting you quickly and easily split medium-sized, low-branch logs. Even branchy ones split fine by repeating the motion a few times. The 430 mm long frame means you can handle really long splits too. Frame diameter is 60 - 180 mm for different log sizes. Thanks to the adjustable counterpiece position, setting the pressure gap is fast, and you don't have to wait for the piece to travel the whole rail length like with electric splitters. You can also adjust the stroke distance to be shorter or longer depending on the logs, so you don't need to lift your foot as high.
This thing is great for easily and hassle-free making firewood in off-grid spots without noise or dust. Set the counterpiece support where you want it so the logs fit between it and the wedge. Then press the foot pedal, pushing the wood against the splitting wedge until it cracks. Repeat the process as many times as needed.
