The Kapro K7 is a compact and fast laser distance measurer that measures distances from 0.05 to 100 meters with just one button press. The internal processor directly calculates lengths, areas, and volumes, and multi-point Pythagoras functions let you figure out heights and hard-to-reach measurements when you can't get a straight line of sight.
Bluetooth connection sends measurements to a mobile app or project management tool. This makes documenting easier, cuts down on typing errors, and speeds up reporting on the job site. The device also supports continuous measurement (tracking) and min/max value searches, which is handy for stuff like measuring for furniture, trim, and openings.
The K7's backlit display is easy to read in bright indoor spaces and low light. The IP54 rating protects against dust and splashes, and the rubber-coated body gives you better grip. Auto power-off saves batteries, and it remembers your last measurements to speed up repeat tasks.
Functions include single measurement, continuous measurement, min/max search, adding and subtracting distances, area and volume calculations, and 2-3 point Pythagoras height calculations. You can choose units like meters, feet, or inches, and switch between rear and front reference points as needed.
Uses:
Construction and renovation sites – Quick room measurements, checking openings and lines, trim measurements, and placements. Continuous measurement and min/max search make it easy to grab the 'right spot' without marking rounds.
Electrical/HVAC and furniture measuring – Route lengths, rise heights, and equipment enclosures all with one tool. Pythagoras function lets you get heights without a ladder if you have reference distances available.
Property maintenance, planning, and quoting – Area and volume calculations give you direct quantities for painting, flooring, and HVAC needs. Bluetooth sends measurements to systems, reducing manual input and errors.
Interior measuring and documentation – Unit switching (m/ft/in), memory function, and backlight make it a smooth partner for inventories and docs.

Features:
Measurement range: 0.05–100 m — covers general indoor measurements and long runs in hallways/warehouses.
Accuracy: up to ±1.5 mm — allows precise installation and calculation work without repeats.
Bluetooth connection: Data transfer to measurement apps — reduces manual logging and errors.
Pythagoras functions: 2–3 point height/distance calculation — when there's no direct line of sight.
Area & volume: m²/m³ calculation — right on the device for quantity and quoting.
Continuous measurement & min/max: Tracking mode — grab the right distance by sliding around.
Memory: Stores last measurements — speeds up repeat tasks (e.g., 20–50 values typically).
Units: m, ft, in — flexible reporting and communication with drawings.
Rear/front measurement: Switchable reference point — measure from corner or device front.
Display: Backlit — readable in dim light and bright indoors too.
Protection: IP54 — dust and splash protection for job site conditions.
Laser: Class 2 (red) — visible beam meets safety standards.
Power: 2× AAA — widely available, auto-off extends life.
Mounting: 1/4" tripod thread — steady measurements for long runs on a tripod.
Operating temperature: -10…+50 °C — typical indoor job site conditions.
Kapro K7 user guide:
Getting started – Insert batteries, power on the device, and pick your unit (m/ft/in). Choose reference point (front/rear) based on what you're measuring.Single measurement – Point the laser at the target and hit the measure button. Distance shows on the display; save to memory if needed.Continuous measurement (tracking) – Keep measuring on and move the device; min/max helps find the nearest/farthest point.Area and volume – Measure sides in order; device auto-calculates m²/m³.Pythagoras – Pick 2- or 3-point mode, point to points in sequence and confirm; device figures the missing measurement.Bluetooth – Turn on connection in settings and pair with app; measurements transfer automatically to field reports.Maintenance – Wipe optics with soft cloth, avoid solvents. Change batteries in time. Store in case, dry.
Warnings:
Class 2 laser: Don't look directly into the beam or its strong reflections.
Make sure the beam doesn't point at bystanders. Use a tripod for long distances to cut measurement errors.
Don't use in explosive environments.
IP54 isn't waterproof; avoid heavy rain and pressure washing.
Remove batteries for long-term storage.
Always follow job site safety rules.
Frequently Asked Questions, FAQ:
How accurate is the K7?Typical accuracy up to ±1.5 mm in normal indoor use.Can I measure height without direct line of sight?Yeah, Pythagoras functions let you get height from two or three diagonal distances. How do I use Bluetooth?Turn it on from the device and connect to a compatible app; measurements transfer automatically.Does it work outdoors?Yes, but visibility drops in bright sunlight. Use a tripod and target surface; range up to 100 m.What batteries are recommended?2 × AAA alkaline; lithium-AAA works better in cold.
