The Kapro 872G Prolaser® Plus is a green-beam cross laser that projects horizontal and vertical lines intersecting at a 90° angle. The green diode improves visibility in bright indoor spaces, making the line clear even on light surfaces and at longer distances. The basic measurement range of the device is up to 30 m without a receiver, and in pulse mode the laser can be combined with a detector, extending the working range to up to 60 meters.
The accuracy is in the range of ±0.2 mm/m, which enables even demanding alignment and finishing work. Self-leveling works within a ±3° range using a pendulum mechanism; when the device is outside the leveling range, the 872G indicates the situation with both a visual and audible signal. This prevents mismarking and speeds up the progress of the work in changing conditions.
The operating modes are complemented by manual slope, where self-leveling is switched off and the line can be set at a deliberate angle, for example for marking slopes or for slanted installations. With beam selection (H/V), the user can keep only the lines they need visible, improving visibility and saving batteries.
The frame is IP54 rated against dust and splashes. The ergonomic shell design and non-slip grip surfaces improve handling on the jobsite. 3×AA batteries and a 1/4” tripod thread and 5/8” adapter are supplied as standard, so the device fits both light and heavy tripods.

Intended use:

Drywall and interior walls – The cross line provides a consistent horizontal reference for suspended ceilings, moldings and wall coverings, and a vertical line for aligning frames, jambs and partitions. Self-leveling speeds up work, and ±0.2 mm/m accuracy ensures consistent lines even over long runs. With the pulse mode and receiver, the line can be extended through open spaces and long corridors.

Tiling and wet areas – The horizontal line defines the starting height and upper limits of rows, the vertical line ensures straightness of the joint division. The manual slope can be used to mark slight slopes, for example in shower rooms. The excellent visibility of the green beam reduces the risk of incorrect marking under work lights.

Electrical and HVAC installations – The vertical line makes it easier to align risers and ducts from floor to ceiling, the horizontal line supports uniform installation heights for switches and sockets. The tripod mount (1/4” + 5/8” adapter) provides stability over long distances and when the work requires repeated measurements.

Interior and finishing work – Installation of cabinets, baseboards, window sills and curtain rails is faster when the same height and straightness are transmitted throughout the room. The choice of beams (only H or only V) clarifies the view in precise layout and improves the quality of the work.

Kapro 872G user manual:
Start-up and levelling – Place the device on a stable surface or stand. Switch on; in automatic mode, self-levelling works within ±3°. Wait for levelling before marking. In the over-level area, the lines flash and the buzzer sounds – place the device on a more stable surface.
Radius selection and manual slope – Select H, V or H+V. Activate manual mode with a long press when you need a sloped line; a flashing indication reminds you that self-leveling is not in use. Make your mark and return to automatic leveling before the next level lines.
Pulse Mode and Receiver – Enable pulse mode for outdoor or long-range targets. Connect to a compatible receiver and adjust the elevation until the centering tone/LED is aligned. This improves readability in bright light.
Maintenance and storage – Clean the optics with a soft, lint-free cloth. Lock the pendulum during transport (if equipped). Store the device in a dry place, protect it from shocks, remove the batteries for longer storage.

Warnings:

Class 2 laser: do not look directly into the beam or its strong reflections; protect bystanders.

Ensure a secure mount; dropping the device may damage the optics and calibration.

IP54 is not immersion protection; avoid heavy wetting and pressure washing.

Do not use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

Use only batteries as specified; remove them for long-term storage.

Frequently Asked Questions, FAQ:
What is the beam combination of the 872G? Horizontal and vertical lines crossed at 90°; you can use them separately or simultaneously.
Can I use the device outdoors? Yes. In pulse mode with the receiver, the range is up to 60 m. Visibility to the naked eye depends on the lighting and background.
Is it possible to create a slope line? Yes. Manual slope disables self-leveling, allowing the line to be set at the desired angle (flashing indicates the status).
What is the accuracy and self-leveling range of the device? Accuracy ±0.2 mm/m and self-leveling ±3°.
What is included in the delivery? Cross laser 872G, 3×AA batteries, 5/8" adapter and carrying bag (depending on the set, other accessories also included).
