Sharpening guide for sharpening wood chisels, turning chisels, and gouge blades. The sharpening guide ensures that the pre-ground angles of the chisel blades being sharpened don't change during sharpening. This way, you can make sure the chisels' performance and accuracy stay good for a long time.
Can be used with regular wood chisels, bevel-edge chisels, and gouge blades.
When grinding, it's recommended to use grinding oil, which improves the quality of the grinding result and doesn't rust the pieces like water does.
Usage:
Loosen the guide's tension nuts and place the blade to be ground into the guide. Then place the guide on top of the grinding stone.
Press the blade of the piece being sharpened against the grinding stone with your other hand and guide the piece into place according to the guide's grooves. Then tighten the tension screws loosely.
Check the angle formed between the blade and the grinding stone. Move the piece being sharpened back and forth in the guide so that there's about a 3-degree angle between the piece and the stone. Then tighten the tension screws fully.
Sharpen the piece by pressing the guide and the blade against the grinding stone and moving them against the stone. This sharpens the blade to the correct angle.
