Right angle Kapro Ledge-it 40 cm
The Kapro Ledge? It ?square is a versatile marking and measuring tool for wood, sheet metal and interior construction work. Its stainless steel blade is permanently lasered/engraved with both metric and inch scales, which supports working in different drawing practices. Angle markings placed in the holes of the blade allow both 90° measurement and the most commonly used bevel and miter angles to be quickly drawn without separate tools.
The signature feature of the square is the retractable Ledge? It? support integrated into the frame. This metal edge step swings out and rests against the edge of the workpiece, keeping the square in place without having to press it with your hands. This solution frees up your other hand for marking or clamping and reduces the risk of slipping, especially on long pieces and vertical surfaces.
The cast aluminum handle forms a double-sided 3D platform that makes it easy to make bevels and guided drawings on either side of the workpiece. The body has three milled reference surfaces for precise 90° contact, as well as a convenient hanging hole and marking groove for consistent, straight lines even when using the blade as a guide.
The blade is perforated every centimeter, enabling smooth, repeatable marking, for example on parallel lines. The corner holes cover common bevel angles found on the jobsite and in workshops: 10°, 15°, 22.5°, 30°, 45°, 50° and 60°. This combination makes the tool quick and intuitive to use, for example, for marking mitres, copy angles of parts and sheet metal cuts.
Applications range from carpentry (frames, joints, moldings) to drywall installations and other interior trim. The durable material combination — stainless steel and cast aluminum — makes the tool suitable for both jobsite conditions and more precise measuring benches. The product is a “parent” model: it includes several size/length variations; this description focuses on the structure and features, not individual dimensions.
Intended use:
Carpentry and cabinet making. The Ledge? It?support allows you to anchor a square to the edge of a workpiece and make repeatable, accurate 90° line markings with one hand. Perforated corner points help you quickly transfer mitres (e.g. 45°) and special angles (22.5°, 30°) directly to the workpiece without a square. This speeds up the preparation of frames, frames and cabinet joints and reduces errors.
Panel and interior work (plaster, plywood, MDF). The retractable edge support prevents the tool from slipping when marking large panels, especially in a vertical position. The centimeter perforation on the blade allows you to quickly mark parallel cutting lines: just move the pencil from one hole to the other, drawing a line along the blade. The corner holes speed up the mitres and chamfers for electrical and opening markings.
Construction and installation verification measurements. Three milled reference surfaces ensure precise contact with the surface being measured, so you can check 90° angles from door frames to box structures. A hanging hole makes it easier to store the tool on the job site and reduces inaccuracies caused by bumps when the tool is not lying free.
Making chamfers, templates and repeat measurements. The frame marking groove acts as a guide when transferring lines, for example, in listing. The corner holes also allow you to copy an existing corner and transfer it to a new piece, which is useful in renovations where the walls are not perfectly straight.
Model transfers and sketching for technical drawing. Permanent engravings in metric and inch divisions support the reading of drawings in international projects. The tool is also suitable for marking model bases and measurement fields, especially when you want to ensure parallelism of lines and repeatability of angles.
Features:
Ledge? It – retractable edge support: Allows hands-free working; the square rests on the edge of the workpiece without the need for a grip — faster and more accurate marking, less slippage.
Stainless steel blade, permanent engravings: Metric and inch scales engraved; wear-resistant marking ensures readability in jobsite conditions.
Angle holes 10°, 15°, 22.5°, 30°, 45°, 50° and 60°: The most common bevel and mitre angles directly from the steel; fast angle transfer without a separate protractor.
Perforation every centimeter (and depending on the model, a fine inch scale): Smooth, parallel line marking and pattern repetition even over long distances.
Cast aluminum, double-sided 30° handle base: Provides a stable grip and support for drawing bevels on both sides of the workpiece; lightweight yet durable construction.
3 milled reference surfaces: Precise contact with the surface being measured, reducing measurement errors both on the table and on the job site.
Marking groove in the frame: Quickly draw standard distances and repeat lines without a separate guide strip.
Hanging hole: Easy storage and quick access at the workstation.
Certified 90°: Quality-controlled angle ensures precise squareness during inspection measurements.
Kapro Ledge? It ?right angle — user manual:
Preparation: Make sure the blade and milled surfaces are clean. Release the retractable Ledge? It? support by pressing/swiveling it out of the frame.
Angle Setting: Place the milled reference surface of the handle against the edge of the workpiece. If you are working on a vertical surface or with a long edge, let the Ledge? It?rest rest on the edge to anchor the tool in place.
Marking 90°: Draw a line along the edge of the blade. Use the marking groove on the frame to make repeatable lines.
Bevel and miter angles: Select the desired angle from the angle holes on the blade (10°–60°). Place a pencil in the hole and make a mark; draw a line from the notch at the end of the blade to the mark.
Parallel lines: Move the pen along the centimeter holes on the blade and draw lines following the edge of the blade. This is useful for repeat measurements of panel cuts and moldings, for example.
Storage and maintenance: Wipe the blade and handle after use. It is recommended to remove dirt and moisture from the job site with a soft cloth; if necessary, use a light oil on the blade surface to prevent corrosion. Push the Ledge? It? support back into the frame for transport.
Warnings:
Not a cutting tool: The blade is not intended for cutting. Avoid applying force that could distort the blade or round the reference surfaces.
Risk of finger pinching: When using the retractable support, keep your fingers out of the path of movement of the mechanism.
Surface cleanliness: Sand and chips between the blade and the workpiece can cause dimensional errors and scratch surfaces.
Protective equipment: Use appropriate personal protective equipment (safety glasses, gloves) when working in construction and woodworking.
Magnetization and electricity: The product does not contain magnets; do not attempt to magnetize it to avoid loss of accuracy due to metal chips adhering to the surfaces.
Temperature fluctuations: Extreme temperatures can affect measurement results; avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or freezing temperatures.
Frequently Asked Questions, FAQ:
What are the benefits of Ledge? It?support?
It acts as a “third hand”: the support rests on the edge of the workpiece and holds the square in place, leaving the other hand free for marking or clamping. This improves repeatability and reduces errors, especially on long and vertical workpieces.
What angles can I mark without a separate protractor?
The angle holes on the blade allow you to mark the most common bevel angles: 10°, 15°, 22.5°, 30°, 45°, 50° and 60°. Mark a point through the hole and connect it with the notch or edge on the end of the blade as a line.
Is the square calibrated to a 90° angle?
Yes, the angle is guaranteed at the factory. However, before precision work, it is still recommended to do a quick alignment test (draw a line, turn the tool and check that the lines meet).
Are there length/size options included?
Yes. This is a variant product with several length options. Choose the appropriate length from the product variations according to the project.
Can I draw parallel lines without a separate ruler?
Yes. The centimeter perforation on the blade and the marking groove on the body enable parallel lines to be drawn quickly and repeatably.
