Schwan steel wool in a 200 gram roll is a high-quality and versatile abrasive material that is suitable for a wide range of cleaning, sanding and polishing tasks. The product is designed specifically for fine finishing of wood and metal surfaces, but also works for removing paint, varnish or rust, and for roughening surfaces before surface treatment.
Steel wool is available in several different grit sizes, marked with numbers (e.g. 0000 = very fine, 0 = medium, 2 = coarse). Choosing the right grit size allows for precise results depending on the material and application.
The product is delivered in a compact and easy-to-cut roll, from which you can cut pieces of the appropriate size as needed. The material in the roll is long-fibered and durable, so it does not generate dust or break down easily during use.

Intended use:

Fine sanding of wood and preparation for surface treatment: Very fine steel wool (e.g. 0000) is ideal for intermediate sanding and finishing of wooden surfaces before varnishing, oiling or waxing. The wool gently smooths the surface and helps to achieve a professional finish.

Cleaning and polishing metal surfaces: Medium to fine steel wool can be used to clean and polish metal such as copper, brass or steel. Removes oxidation and restores shine without chemicals.

Rust and paint removal: Coarser wool is suitable for effectively removing rust, paint or dirt from metal surfaces before refinishing. Also suitable for roughening surfaces before painting.

Car care and glass cleaning: Very fine wool is also suitable for cleaning glass surfaces and polishing chrome parts. Removes water droplets and weather marks without scratches.
