When installing floor tiles, it's super important that they're all at the same level. Getting tiles even can be tricky even for pros and takes a ton of time. Uneven floor tiles feel awful underfoot, and the height differences at the edges can stub your toes and look bad in indirect light. The leveling wedges are single-use and you snap them off under the tiles once the mortar dries. Tip: You can also use tile spacers to set the grout line width if the leveling system makes them too narrow. How to use Spread the right amount of adhesive mortar on a flat surface using the proper sized trowel. Place the leveling wedge between two floor tiles so the foot part goes under the tiles and the upright part between them. The upright automatically creates a grout line matching the wedge's width. Screw the tightening clip that comes with the package onto the leveling wedge. Turn the clip down and tighten it firmly against the wedge to pull the adjacent tiles level. Repeat the process across the whole floor so everything's even with no bumps between tiles. Once the mortar's dry, unscrew the clips from the wedges and tap the wedges lightly. When tapping, they snap cleanly along the break lines on the base, then you can sweep the pieces away. The wedges stay hidden under the grout. Grout works best with a good quality grout float.
