The Kapro Apollo Spirit Level with Handles (985XL) is a versatile box-style level that helps with installing straight and sloped surfaces in construction, installation, and interior work. At its core, it has three fixed acrylic vials (horizontal, vertical, and 45°), with a nominal accuracy of ±0.5 mm/m. This covers common leveling needs, from aligning surfaces, frames, machine bases, and equipment mounts to checking angles.
The patented Plumb Site® Dual-View™ feature speeds up vertical measurements. It lets you read the vertical vial straight on from the front without looking from the side, which cuts down on parallax errors and makes installations easier in tight spots like doorways, frame structures, and risers. When you can see the vertical from the front, alignment is straightforward even when working alone.
The horizontal vial handles basic leveling, and the 45° vial speeds up setting trim, railings, and sloped surfaces. The Apollo can be flipped completely upside down, so the same tool works for floor and ceiling leveling, plus checking the parallelism of beam undersides and topsides.
The base is finely milled for better contact with the surface and less slipping, especially on hard, smooth ones. The ends have protective caps that absorb shocks and help keep the tool functional on job sites.
The Ergo Grip™ handles are secure and comfy even for long installations. They make it easy to handle the level with one hand and provide a steady grip for overhead alignments.
Uses:
Drywall and interior cladding – Straightening wall frames, studs, and sheeting requires repeated vertical and horizontal checks. Plumb Site® Dual-View™ lets you read verticals straight from the front, so you can confirm alignment without leaning over from the side. The milled base improves grip on drywall, painted surfaces, and metal frames, making solo measuring easier.
Pipe, HVAC, and duct installations – Aligning pipes, ducts, and risers needs control of both vertical and horizontal. The handles give a firm hold, and the fully flippable body allows floor and ceiling leveling with one tool. The magnetic version sticks to steel surfaces, keeping measurements in place while you free your hands for connections.
Door and window installations – For leveling frames and sills, the front-view vertical vial reduces reading errors and speeds up adjustments. The 45° vial also helps confirm slopes for trim and window sills. The handles support a controlled grip when nudging the frame into place.
Wood framing and interiors – Leveling counters, shelves, cabinets, and furniture needs quick repeat measurements in different positions. The handled body is easy to position and move around, and the milled base improves contact against wood. Flipping the level upside down lets you check the opposite edge of a structure without swapping tools.
Electrical and mounting work – Installing outlet rows, cable ducts, rails, and troughs requires repeatable measurements. Plumb Site® makes vertical lining up easier, and the 45° vial supports setting angled cable guides.
Features:
Accuracy: ±0.5 mm/m – Good for general construction and installation measurements without a separate calibration tool.
Vials: Fixed acrylic vials (horizontal, vertical, 45°) – Covers basics for straight and angled installations.
Plumb Site® Dual-View™: Front-view for the vertical vial – Reduces parallax errors and speeds up plumb checks.
Milled base: Better surface contact – Steadier position and more precise readings.
Handled body: Ergo Grip™ handles – Secure hold and easy handling even working overhead.
Fully flippable body: Allows floor and ceiling leveling plus checking top and bottom surfaces side by side.
45° vial: Speeds up setting sloped trim, railings, and angled surfaces.
End caps: Absorb bumps and protect the body during use.
Kapro Apollo Spirit Level instructions:
Before use: Make sure the base and surface are clean of dust and debris. Check that the bubbles move freely in the vials.
Horizontal leveling: Place the level on the surface and adjust until the bubble sits between the center lines. Repeat at different spots if needed to ensure the whole length is straight.
Vertical check: Put the level against the side of the object and read the vertical vial from the Plumb Site® window straight on. Fine-tune until the bubble centers.
45° angle check: Align the object with the vial's 45° marks. Handy for trim and angled installs.
Flipped measurement: Turn the level upside down for ceilings or overhead structures – the vials work the same way flipped.
Flip test for accuracy: Mark the bubble position in a horizontal reading, flip the level 180° back to the same spot, and check that the bubble settles in the same center spot.
Maintenance: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid solvents that can fog the acrylic. Store dry and away from direct UV light.
Warnings:
Don't use the product near live wires without proper precautions.
Fall risk: Avoid reaching on scaffolds and ladders – always use a stable stance and fall protection if needed.
Don't expose vials to strong solvents or extreme heat.
Check functionality after a drop or hard impact before continuing work.
Keep out of reach of children.
FAQ:
Does the Apollo have a front-readable vertical vial?
Yes. Plumb Site® Dual-View™ gives a direct front view of the vertical vial, making plumb alignments easier.
What's the stated accuracy?
±0.5 mm/m. This covers typical construction and installation leveling needs.
Can you use the tool upside down?
Yes. It's designed to be fully flippable, so floor and ceiling leveling work with the same tool.
What's the difference between the 45° vial and the basic ones?
The 45° vial speeds up setting angled structures and trim without a separate angle tool, while the horizontal and vertical vials handle basic leveling.
Recycling instructions:
Packaging: Sort cardboard and paper per local guidelines. Plastics to plastic recycling.
Product: Aluminum and metal parts to metal waste. Plastic and rubber parts to plastic recycling if your area has separate collection. Acrylic vials to energy waste or plastic recycling per local rules.
