Gorilla Mounting Tape 1.52 m is a double-sided mounting tape for permanent mounting without screws, nails or drilling. The tape is suitable for many common materials, such as metal, glass, plastic, ceramic and painted surfaces, as well as many smooth stone surfaces. The transparent or black (depending on the product variant) tape mass creates a neat and unobtrusive result.
The thick texture of the tape evens out light irregularities and increases the contact surface, which improves adhesion even on slightly rough surfaces. The permanent acrylic-based adhesive forms a strong bond that is resistant to normal temperature and humidity fluctuations. This makes the product a practical choice even for spaces with intermittent humidity or temperature fluctuations.
The roll length of 1.52 m provides flexibility: you can cut a piece of tape that fits your needs for an individual hook, cable tray, strip or panel. The tape attachment is quick to implement and does not require a curing time – once the surface is clean and the tape is carefully pressed into place, the attachment is immediately ready for use.
Tape helps you avoid drilling holes and damaging the surface on sensitive surfaces. It is also useful for retrofits and temporary trade fair/exhibition solutions where speed of installation and a clean appearance are important. When the attachment needs to be as discreet as possible, a double-sided solution is often the best solution.
Intended use:
Permanent interior installations (hooks, moldings, light panels): Double-sided tape allows for drill-free attachment to painted walls, ceramic tiles and glass. Clean and degrease the surface, cut to the correct length and apply firm pressure over the entire area. Taping saves time and minimizes surface damage, which is useful for example in rental spaces and finishing work.
Finishing electrical and HVAC installations (ducts, strips, light enclosures): When routing cables or installing low profile strips, the tape quickly provides sufficient support without mechanical fasteners. Level the surface and avoid dust: the larger the actual contact surface, the more durable the joint. The tape reduces vibration noise and leaves the installation neat.
Fixing furniture and interior solutions (mirrors and interior panels, nameplates):* When you want an inconspicuous attachment, the tape remains invisible. For heavy mirrors, use a tape specifically suitable for mirrors/separately approved by the manufacturer and follow the surface-specific restrictions (*check the product-specific suitability for the mirror). For lightweight nameplates and moldings, tape is a nimble solution.
Outdoor use and vehicle accessories (light moldings, protective films, reflectors): The acrylic adhesive is resistant to normal weather conditions, so installations can also be successful outdoors when the surface is clean and dry. Avoid heavy loads during the first hours to allow the adhesion to develop.
Trade fairs, shops and temporary structures: Quick installation without drilling or damaging the paint. The tape is suitable for sales displays, signs and decorative elements where speed and cleanliness of installation are important. Removal is planned in advance by choosing a substrate that can withstand the removal of any adhesive residue.
Features:
Type: Double-sided mounting/fixing tape – Allows for drill-free, discreet mounting.
Roll length: 1.52 m – Enough for multiple attachment points; can be cut to exact length.
Adhesive: Acrylic-based permanent adhesive – Withstands normal temperature and humidity fluctuations.
Surface compatibility: Metal, glass, ceramic, painted surfaces, many plastics – Wide range of applications when the substrate is clean and dry.
Structure: Thick tape mass – Smoothes out small irregularities and increases contact.
Usage environment: Indoor/outdoor – Suitable for a variety of installations when surfaces are prepared properly.
Requirements at the time of installation: Pressure and cleanliness – High surface pressure and careful degreasing ensure durability.
Gorilla Mounting Tape – instructions for use:
Preparation: Clean the surface of dust, grease and loose material (isopropyl alcohol is a recommended cleaner for many surfaces). Dry the surface.
Measuring and cutting: Cut the tape to the required length. Several shorter pieces can distribute the load better than one long piece.
Installation: Remove the protective film from one side and apply the tape to the object to be attached. Press firmly over the entire area. Remove the other protective film and position the part in place.
Press: Press firmly for 20–30 seconds all around. Avoid loading immediately after installation to allow the bond to strengthen.
Maintenance and removal: Clean visible adhesive residue with a suitable cleaning agent depending on the surface material. When removing, remove by gently pulling and, if necessary, softening the adhesive residue.
Warnings:
Not recommended for dusty, slippery or oily surfaces without thorough pre-treatment.
Not recommended for constantly damp or submerged locations.
For mirrors, PP/PE plastics, powder coatings and porous stone surfaces, ensure suitability with a test.
Avoid loading the tape with shearing/pulling force – design the loading to be parallel to the surface.
Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Frequently Asked Questions, FAQ:
How quickly does the tape achieve final adhesion? The adhesion is immediate, but the adhesion strengthens over hours. Avoid loading heavy parts immediately after installation.
Does the tape work outdoors? Yes, as long as the surface is clean and dry at the time of installation. Weather and UV resistance is good for acrylic adhesives, but a confirmation test is recommended for critical applications.
Can the tape be removed without damage? Permanent tape can require force and leave adhesive residue. The best way to remove it is to pull slowly and soften the adhesive residue with a suitable cleaner.
Can the tape withstand damp conditions? Occasional moisture, yes, but continuous moisture or immersion is not recommended. Good pre-cleaning is essential.
Recycling instructions:
Packaging: Cardboard/paper - recycling; possible plastic film - plastic collection.
Product: Tape roll and protective films - energy/mixed waste according to local guidelines (materials containing adhesives are usually not suitable for material recycling).
