Line laser Kapro 883G green 3D, 2P+1V 360 deg. hard housing IP65
The Kapro 883G is a green-beam 3D line laser that projects one 360° horizontal line and two 360° vertical lines. This gives you a surrounding reference for the entire room: you can level, align and transfer measurements on multiple walls, ceilings and floor surfaces without moving the device. The green beam is clearly visible in bright indoor spaces and improves work accuracy and speed.
The device self-levels quickly with a pendulum mechanism within a typical range of ±3°. When the job requires setting the slope (e.g. felling), a manual mode is available, where the lines can be tilted in a controlled manner. The accuracy is in the order of ±0.3 mm/m, which is suitable for both framing and finishing work.
For outdoor use and long distances, the 883G has a pulse mode that allows the laser to be detected with a separate receiver. Without a receiver, the typical operating range is up to 30 meters; with a receiver, for a significantly longer working range.
With an IP65 rating for dust and water jet protection, the device can withstand construction site conditions. The body is protected by rubber pads, and a hard carrying case ensures that the device and accessories stay organized and safe on the move.
Versatile mounting options (1/4” and 5/8” tripod threads as well as a magnetic mount/multi-function stand) make placement easy. The power source is typically a rechargeable battery (or AA batteries depending on the set), which offers long operating time and flexible maintenance.
Intended use:
Drywall and Hardwall – Two 360° vertical lines allow you to align wall frames, doorways and recesses on multiple surfaces simultaneously. The horizontal line goes around the room, so you can keep a reference for the installation height of drywall, suspended ceilings and moldings, even when you move from room to room. This reduces measurement errors and speeds up installation by aligning with one device.
Tiling, wet areas and slopes – Manual slope allows you to set precise slopes for floor drains and long runs. The 360° horizontal line acts as a continuous reference level for starting rows, while the vertical lines help you check the straightness of corners and wall lines. The high visibility of the green beam makes it easy to mark measurements even in bright spaces.
Interior and finishing work – Installing sockets, moldings, cabinets, skirting boards and curtain rods is easier when a line extending across the room shows the same height on all walls. Vertical lines straighten the alignment between the floor and ceiling, for example in lighting lines or when vertically aligning kitchen furniture.
Outdoor work and long alignments – The combination of pulse mode and receiver gives you reliable alignment even in bright daylight and over long distances. IP65 protection keeps the device operational in dusty and humid conditions often found on construction sites.

Kapro 883G user manual:
Getting Started – Place the device on a stable surface or tripod. Turn on the power; in automatic mode, the self-leveling will lock the level within ±3°. Wait for leveling before marking. If necessary, select only the horizontal line, vertical line(s), or all lines to save power.
Manual Mode – Press and hold the mode button to activate manual grade. The lines may flash to indicate that self-leveling is not in use. Adjust the desired grade and make your mark.
Pulse Mode and Receiver – Switch to pulse mode for outdoor or long-distance use. Place the receiver according to the manufacturer’s instructions and adjust the height until the signal is centered.
Mounting and placement – Use a 1/4" or 5/8" thread on the stand or a magnetic mount on steel structures. Check that the device is securely attached and cannot fall.
Maintenance – Wipe the optics with a soft, lint-free cloth. Remove dust and spills, dry after use. Store the device in a dry, shock-proof hard case. Charge the battery regularly; if using AA batteries, remove them for long-term storage.
Warnings:
Do not look directly into the laser beam or its strong reflections; protect passersby.
Ensure a secure mount; dropping the device may cause injury and calibration error.
Do not use in potentially explosive atmospheres or immerse in water (IP65 is not immersion protection).
Remove batteries/rechargeable battery for long-term storage and avoid extreme temperatures.
Follow general safety instructions and personal protective equipment on the construction site.
Frequently Asked Questions, FAQ:
What lines does the 883G produce? One 360° horizontal line and two 360° vertical lines that form a 3D grid of lines in space.
Can the device be used outdoors? Yes. Enable pulse mode and use a line receiver. Without a receiver, visibility depends on lighting.
Is it possible to tilt the lines? Yes, in manual mode the lines can be tilted for slope markings. In this case, self-leveling is not active.
What is the difference between a green and red beam? Green is generally more visible in bright indoor environments, making it easier to read the marking at longer distances.
How to ensure accuracy? Perform regular field calibration tests (e.g. duplicate measurements at 5–10 m). The deviation should remain within the stated ±0.3 mm/m limit.
