Steel trowels/smoothing trowels are intended for spreading screed evenly over a large area. Trowels are available in several sizes. Larger trowels allow for faster spreading of large amounts of screed, but the larger the size of the trowel, the heavier the application.

Levelling compounds are applied to the surface by pulling or pushing the trowel against the surface. This ensures that any unevenness in the surface to be levelled is filled evenly.
