Yato Cup brush M14 100 mm brass
Yato Cup Brush M14 100 mm Brass is a crimped cleaning brush that can be attached to an angle grinder and is designed for gentle but effective surface work. Brass wire is softer than steel wire, which reduces the risk of scratching on delicate objects and soft metals such as copper, brass and aluminum.
The cup body distributes contact evenly and improves control over large surfaces. The Ø100 mm size provides good coverage, and the M14 mount fits most 115-125 mm angle grinders. The corrugated wire cuts evenly without the aggressiveness of the angular braided wire, making it excellent for removing oxidation, paint and adhesive residue, and light dirt.
Brass wire is inherently low in sparking and does not cause iron contamination on the surfaces being machined. This is important when working with non-ferrous metals, chrome-plated or plated parts, and threads and sealing surfaces where the surface profile must be maintained.
The correct working technique – gentle angle, light to moderate pressure and recommended speed – will achieve a smooth and controlled result. Regular breaks and checking the condition of the brush will extend its service life and ensure the work result.
Intended use:
Removal of oxidation and surface contamination from non-ferrous metals: Brass wire removes oxide layers from copper and brass, as well as light oxide from aluminum, without deep scratches. This is useful for applications such as electrical connectors, pipe components, and decorative parts where the visual quality and dimensions of the surface are to be preserved.
Gentle cleaning of paint and adhesive residues: The corrugated wire removes weakly adhering coatings from wood, soft metals and coated components in a controlled manner. The brass reduces the risk of over-roughening, so the base work remains clean before re-coating or gluing.
Cleaning threads and sealing surfaces: Dirt, dried-on compounds and surface rust can be removed from threads without rounding the thread edges by applying light pressure and smooth strokes. This improves assembly quality and facilitates subsequent maintenance.
Finishing of decorative and machine parts: The brush creates a smooth, fine microstructure on chrome, nickel or anodized surfaces when a light polishing/cleaning effect is required without the aggressive cutting of the steel wire.
Features:
Diameter: 100 mm – Good coverage for large surfaces with controlled maneuverability.
Mounting: M14 thread – Compatible with most angle grinders.
Bristle material: Brass wire (crimped) – Softer cut; low sparking and no iron contamination.
Structure: Cup brush – Even contact and a clean finish without edge biting.
Applications: Oxidation, paint and adhesive residues, light dirt – Especially non-ferrous metals and sensitive surfaces.
Speed: Follow the maximum value marked on the product – Prevents overheating and premature wear of the threads.
Safety: Protective shield, eye and respiratory protection – To reduce risks at work.
Yato Cup Brush M14 100 mm brass – instruction manual:
Installation: Disconnect the angle grinder from the power supply. Attach the brush to the M14 thread and tighten according to the manufacturer's instructions. Ensure the correct position of the protective shield.
Test run: Rotate the brush at idle speed for a few seconds; stop if abnormal vibration or “throwing” occurs.
How to work: Hold the brush at a gentle angle and use light to moderate pressure. Use even strokes; avoid pointy, prolonged contact.
Pause: Stop regularly, remove loose material and let cool. Check the wear of the threads and the condition of the cup.
Maintenance: Clean from dust and shavings, dry and store in a dry place. Do not straighten twisted wires.
Warnings:
Always wear safety glasses/visors, a respirator suitable for the dust level, protective gloves and, if necessary, hearing protection.
Do not exceed the maximum speed allowed by the brush/machine.
Do not use a damaged or unbalanced brush.
Keep flammable materials away from the work area.
Not for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Keep out of reach of children.
Frequently Asked Questions, FAQ:
Why choose brass wire over steel wire? Brass is softer, sparks less, and is suitable for sensitive surfaces and non-ferrous metals without the risk of iron contamination. It leaves a more even, finer surface finish.
Can the brush be used on stainless steel? Yes, but the removal rate is less than with steel wire. Brass does not spread iron particles, which helps maintain the corrosion resistance of the surface.
Is it suitable for aluminum? Yes. Use light pressure and moderate speed to avoid scratching the surface or overheating it.
When should the brush be replaced? When there are missing threads, the cup is damaged, or vibration increases significantly, the brush should be replaced to ensure safety and a consistent print.
Recycling instructions:
