Yato Cup brush M14 100 mm stainless steel braided
Yato Cup Brush M14 100 mm RST Braided is a brush designed for heavy-duty cleaning and mechanical pre-treatment of metal surfaces, which can be attached to an angle grinder. The braided (knotted) stainless steel wire forms stiff bundles that effectively bite into thick rust, flaking paint layers and welding slag. The cup body stabilizes the contact and distributes the load evenly, allowing the work to proceed in a controlled manner even on large surfaces.
The Ø100 mm diameter provides good coverage without compromising maneuverability. This size is suitable for sheet metal surfaces, profiles and joint areas where rapid material removal and uniform roughness are required before priming or coating. The M14 thread is compatible with common angle grinders in the 115–125 mm class.
The use of INOX wire reduces the risk of cross-contamination from iron particles on stainless steel surfaces compared to carbon steel wire. This is an advantage in maintenance, renovation and pre-cleaning of process industry equipment parts, where further surface treatment requires a clean, uniform adhesion surface.
The correct speed and working technique (light to moderate pressure, even strokes) will produce a controlled result without unnecessary removal of base material. Regular breaks will prevent overheating and extend the life of the brush.
Intended use:
Heavy duty rust and paint removal: Braided INOX wire quickly removes thick layers of corrosion and coatings. Cup design reduces edge biting and helps keep the mark even on large steel and stainless steel surfaces. Useful before sandblasting, grinding or priming.
Cleaning up welding spatter and slag: Braided bundles withstand point loads and remove spatter and heat zone oxides before passivation or painting. The smoother surface reduces the need for subsequent grinding.
Surface roughening before coating/gluing: Mechanical roughening improves adhesion of coatings and adhesives. Ø100 mm offers a good compromise between coverage and controllability, which speeds up pre-treatment in line applications.
Maintenance in outdoor and humid conditions: Stainless steel wire withstands splashes and weathering. Suitable for railings, stair parts, tanks, machine components and steel structures where minimizing cross-contamination is important.
Features:
Diameter: 100 mm – Good coverage for larger surfaces, yet manageable.
Mounting: M14 thread – Compatible with most angle grinders.
Bristle material: Stainless steel wire (INOX), braided (knotted) – Aggressive cutting, resistance to point loads.
Structure: Cup brush – Stable contact, even footprint, minimal edge biting.
Targets: Rust, paint, oxides, slag, splashes – Cleaning and roughening prior to further processing.
RPM: Follow the maximum value indicated on the packaging – To prevent overheating and damage.
Compatibility: 115–125 mm angle grinders – Use of a guard required.
Yato Cup brush M14 100 mm stainless steel braided – user manual:
Installation: Disconnect the machine from the power supply. Attach the brush to the M14 thread and tighten according to the manufacturer's instructions. Ensure the correct position of the protective shield.
Test run: Run at idle briefly; stop if abnormal vibration or wobble occurs.
How to work: Hold the brush at a gentle angle, use light to moderate pressure. Use even strokes; avoid prolonged, point-like contact.
Pause and inspect: Stop regularly, remove loose material and assess wear. Replace the brush if any braids are missing, the wire has shortened unevenly or the cup is damaged.
Maintenance: Clean from dust and shavings; dry and store in a dry place. Do not straighten bent braids.
Warnings:
Always wear safety glasses/visors, a respirator suitable for the dust level, protective gloves and, if necessary, hearing protection.
Do not exceed the speed allowed by the brush/machine.
Do not use a damaged or unbalanced brush.
Keep flammable materials away from the sparking area; sparks may be generated by the workpiece.
Not for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Keep out of reach of children.
Frequently Asked Questions, FAQ:
Why braided wire and not corrugated wire? Braided wire is stiffer and more aggressive – it removes thick rust and slag faster. Corrugated wire is more moderate for even roughness.
Can the brush be used on stainless steel? Yes. INOX wire reduces iron contamination. Clean the surface after use.
Is the brush suitable for aluminum? For light deoxidation and roughening, yes. Avoid excessive pressure and heat to avoid scratching the surface deeply.
When should you replace your brush? When the braids have become unevenly shortened, bundles are missing, or vibration increases – replace with a new one.
Recycling instructions:
Packaging: Cardboard/paper - recycling; any plastic films - plastic collection.
Product: Metal cup and stainless steel wire - metal collection; other parts according to local guidelines.
