Yato cup brush (Ø125 mm, M14) is a nylon fiber brush that can be attached to an angle grinder for removing coatings and cleaning surfaces. The nylon fiber works with a softer touch than steel or brass wire, which reduces scratching of the base material, especially on wood and other soft surfaces. The brush is also suitable for removing dirt and concrete residues from tools and equipment.
The brush is threaded with an M14 standard, which is compatible with common 115-125 mm angle grinder spindles in Europe. The maximum speed is 6500 rpm, which covers typical low- to medium-speed brushing applications. The cup body guides the fibers to work evenly across the entire working width, and the shape makes it easy to work on corners, edges and large flat surfaces.
The advantage of nylon is that it works without sparks and is gentler on the material. This makes the brush a good option for removing paint and dirt from wooden surfaces before sanding or painting, as well as in situations where the metal wire may leave dark spots or burrs. When used correctly, the brush extends the service life of subsequent surface treatment steps (sanding, painting) and improves adhesion.
On jobsites where coatings are brittle or thick, the nylon brush acts as a pre-cleaner: it opens and removes weak layers, after which the surface can be finished with sandpaper. When cleaning tools such as concrete mixers, pumps and mortar equipment, the brush removes dried-on splashes and sludge by dry rubbing or when lightly moistened.

Intended use:

Removing paint and varnish from wooden surfaces: The nylon fiber removes weak and flaking layers without deep scratches, which is an advantage before repainting. The cup shape covers a wide area and also gets into corners. The work progresses in a controlled manner at low to medium speeds.

Cleaning of tools and machines: Removing dry residues of concrete, mortar and mud from concrete mixers, mortar pumps, mixers and plates, etc. Nylon brushes clean without sparking and reduce wear on metal surfaces compared to steel wire.

Roughening and pre-treatment of soft materials: Plastic, composite and soft metal surfaces can be roughened to improve adhesion before bonding or painting. The elasticity of nylon helps maintain surface geometry.

General removal of dirt and oxide layers: Suitable for the mechanical removal of light oxide, dirt and grease residues before chemical cleaning or grinding, making subsequent work steps more efficient.

Features:

Diameter: 125 mm – Wide coverage for flat surfaces and working up to edges.

Attachment: M14 – Compatible with most angle grinders; quick thread attachment.

Max. speed: 6500 rpm – Suitable for controlled brushing and cleaning without overheating.

Bristle Material: Nylon Fiber – Non-sparking, softer touch; reduces scratching on wood and soft surfaces.

Applications: Paint/coating removal, cleaning, roughening – Wooden surfaces, soft materials, tools and equipment.

Machine type: Angle grinder – Stable control and even contact thanks to the cup body.

Yato Cup Brush – User Manual:

Installation: Disconnect the angle grinder from the power supply. Screw the brush onto the M14 thread and tighten according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Getting started: Use a protective shield. Set the speed to a maximum of 6500 rpm. Test on a small area first.

Working: Hold the brush at a slight angle and let the fibers work. Avoid excessive pressure to avoid overheating or “melting” the fibers. Use even strokes.

Cooling and cleaning: Stop regularly and remove loose material. If necessary, use light misting to control dust (not near electrical equipment).

Finish: Only remove the brush when the machine has stopped. Clean and check the fibers; replace if there is uneven wear.

Care and storage: Store in a dry place, protected from solvents and UV radiation. Do not expose to flat pressure, which can change the shape of the fibers.

Warnings:

Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves and a respirator depending on the dust.

Do not exceed the maximum speed of 6500 rpm.

Avoid heavy pressure; excessive load will reduce efficiency and shorten service life.

Do not use in explosive atmospheres or in combination with flammable vapors.

Only attach to compatible angle grinders; always use a protective shield.

Frequently Asked Questions, FAQ:
Can a brush remove paint from metal? Yes, but nylon is softer than steel wire. On metal, the removal effect is moderate; choose nylon, brass or steel wire on a case-by-case basis.
Does nylon leave scratches on wood?Less less than wire. Hard pressure can still cause polishing or “melting” of the fibers – use light pressure and pause.
Is a brush suitable for removing rust? Yes, for cleaning light surface rust. For thick rust, a steel wire cup brush or flap disc is more effective.
Why is the RPM limit important? Too high a RPM will heat the nylon, soften the fiber, and reduce the final result. Stay within the limit and let the fibers do the work.

Recycling instructions:

Packaging: Recycle the blister packaging in plastic recycling.
