Yato Cup brush M14 75 mm stainless steel braided
Yato Cup Brush M14 75 mm RST braided is a cup-shaped brush that can be attached to an angle grinder for mechanical pre-cleaning of metal surfaces. The braided (knotted) stainless steel wire forms stiff bundles that bite into corrosion, flaking paint layers and welding slag. The Ø75 mm diameter offers a combination of coverage and precise maneuverability in profiles, edges and tight spaces.
The cup body stabilizes the contact with the workpiece and helps to keep the mark even. The M14 thread is suitable for common 115-125 mm angle grinders. INOX wire reduces the risk of cross-contamination from iron particles on stainless steel surfaces compared to carbon steel wire, which is useful for pre-treatments before coating or painting.
The brush is suitable for removing rust, oxides and stubborn dirt, as well as for roughening the surface when you want to create a microstructure that improves adhesion. The correct working technique – gentle angle, light to moderate pressure and appropriate speed – produces a controlled result without unnecessary removal of the base material.
Intended use:
Rust and paint removal: The braided bundles remove corrosion and multi-layer coatings quickly. The Ø75 mm size allows for precise work on railings, stair sections and the edges of panel structures, leaving a rough surface to which the primer adheres evenly.
Cleaning of welding spatter and slag: Before further processing, spatter and oxides from the heat zones are removed with a brush. The braided structure withstands point loads and progresses in a controlled manner along seams and near corners.
Surface roughening before coating/gluing: Mechanical roughening creates a uniform microstructure to improve adhesion of coatings and adhesives. Particularly suitable for smooth steel surfaces and stainless steel applications where minimizing cross-contamination is important.
Pre-cleaning for maintenance outdoors and in humid conditions: INOX wire is suitable for conditions where the effect of moisture and splashes is significant, such as outdoor structures, tanks and steel parts of process equipment.
Features:
Diameter: 75 mm – Coverage and precise maneuverability in tight spaces.
Mounting: M14 thread – Compatible with most angle grinders.
Bristle material: Stainless steel wire (INOX), braided (knotted) – Aggressive cutting for thick rust and slag.
Structure: Cup brush – Stable contact and even footprint.
Applications: Rust, paint, oxides, slag, spatter – Pre-cleaning and roughening before coating/painting.
RPM: Follow the maximum value marked on the product – To prevent overheating and damage.
Protective equipment: Protective shield, eye and respiratory protection – To ensure safety.
Yato Cup Brush M14 75 mm RST braided – user manual:
Installation: Disconnect the machine from the power supply. Screw the brush onto the M14 thread and tighten according to the manufacturer's instructions. Ensure the correct position of the protective shield.
Test run: Rotate the brush at idle speed; stop if abnormal vibration or “throwing” occurs.
How to work: Hold the brush at a slight angle, use light to moderate pressure and make even strokes. Avoid prolonged point contact.
Pause and check: Stop regularly, remove loose material and check for wear. Replace the brush if there are missing strands, the wire has shortened unevenly or the cup is damaged.
Maintenance: Clean from dust and shavings, dry and store in a dry place. Do not straighten bent braids.
Warnings:
Use safety glasses/visors, a respirator suitable for the dust level, protective gloves and, if necessary, hearing protection.
Do not exceed the speed allowed by the brush/machine.
Do not use a damaged or unbalanced brush.
Keep flammable materials away from sparking area.
Not for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Keep out of reach of children.
Frequently Asked Questions, FAQ:
Why braided wire and not corrugated wire? Braided wire is stiffer and more aggressive for thick rust and slag; corrugated wire is more moderate for even roughness.
Can the brush be used on stainless steel? Yes. INOX wire reduces the risk of iron contamination. Clean the surface after treatment.
Is it suitable for aluminum? For light deoxidation and roughening, yes; use light pressure and avoid heat build-up.
When should you replace the brush? When there are missing braids, the wire is unevenly worn, or vibration increases – replace it with a new one.
Recycling instructions:
