Yato Cup brush M6 65 mm stainless steel braided
Yato Cup Brush M6 65 mm RST braided is a cup-shaped brush for drilling machines for heavy-duty cleaning and pre-treatment. The braided (knotted) stainless steel wire structure provides a stiff and biting brush surface that removes rust, flaking paint layers, oxides and slag residues quickly and in a controlled manner. The compact 65 mm diameter improves visibility and accuracy in tight spaces, corners and profiles.
The M6 mount allows for direct and centered mounting in a drill chuck or suitable adapter. The drill's variable speed provides control for thin sheets and heat-sensitive surfaces where an angle grinder might be too aggressive. The cup body distributes the load evenly, reducing edge biting and improving work stability.
RST (INOX) wire is resistant to moisture and outdoor conditions and reduces the risk of iron contamination when working on stainless steel surfaces. The brush is suitable for maintenance, renovation, cleaning weld seams and roughening prior to coating.
Intended use:
Removing rust and paint from metal surfaces: The braided wire cuts through firmly attached corrosion and layered coatings. The small Ø65 mm size allows working in crevices and edges of railings, stair parts and machine components, leaving a roughness that improves adhesion for subsequent treatments.
Cleaning of welding spatter, slag and oxides: Before grinding, passivation or painting, the brush quickly removes spatter and oxides from heat zones without excessive removal of base material. The even finish reduces the need for post-grinding and speeds up the work steps.
Surface roughening before coating/gluing: Mechanical roughening creates a uniform microstructure that improves mechanical adhesion of coatings and adhesives. Particularly useful on smooth plates and hard steel surfaces where good adhesion is required.
Maintenance in outdoor conditions: The corrosion resistance of INOX wire makes the brush suitable for outdoor steel structures, tanks and wet areas. The risk of cross-contamination is lower than with carbon steel wire, which helps prevent the formation of new rust spots.
Features:
Diameter: 65 mm – Compact size for precise work in tight spaces and around edges.
Mounting: M6 – Direct and central mounting to the drill chuck/adapter; quick setup.
Bristle material: Stainless steel (INOX), braided (knotted) – High aggressiveness and wear resistance; reduces iron contamination on stainless steel surfaces.
Construction: Cup Brush – Even contact and controlled material removal; reduces edge biting.
Targets: Rust, paint, oxides, slag, spatter – Pre-cleaning and roughening before painting/coating/gluing.
Usage: Adjustable speed – Work with light to moderate pressure to avoid overheating and uneven wear.
Yato Cup brush M6 65 mm stainless steel braided – user manual:
Installation: Disconnect the drill from the battery/mains. Attach the brush to the M6 mount/chuck straight and centrally; tighten according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Test drive: Run briefly in neutral; stop if abnormal vibration or wobble occurs.
How to work: Hold the brush at a gentle angle and let the braided wire do the work. Use light to moderate pressure; avoid prolonged point contact to prevent overheating.
Pause and clean: Stop regularly, remove loose material and check for wear/imbalance.
Maintenance: Clean from dust and shavings; dry and store in a dry place. Do not forcefully straighten bent braids.
Warnings:
Always wear safety glasses/visors, a respirator suitable for the dust level, protective gloves and, if necessary, hearing protection.
Do not exceed the speed allowed by the brush and drill.
Do not use a damaged, crooked or unbalanced brush.
Keep flammable materials away from the work area; sparks may be generated from the workpiece.
Not for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Keep out of reach of children.
Frequently Asked Questions, FAQ:
Why choose braided wire over corrugated wire? Braided wire is stiffer and more aggressive, so it removes thick rust and slag faster. Corrugated wire is more moderate and leaves a softer roughness.
Can the brush be used on stainless steel? Yes. INOX wire reduces iron contamination. Clean the surface after use for best results.
Is it suitable for aluminum? Yes, for light deoxidation and roughening, but avoid excessive pressure and heat to avoid scratching or “sealing” the surface.
When should you replace your brush? When the braids are unevenly shortened, bundles are missing, the cup is damaged or vibration increases – replace it with a new one.
Recycling instructions:
