Yato Cup brush M6 75 mm stainless steel braided
Yato Cup Brush M6 75 mm RST braided is a cup-shaped cleaning and pre-treatment brush made of stainless steel wire (INOX) for drilling machines. The braided wire structure makes the brush stiff and aggressively biting, which speeds up the removal of rust, flaking paint layers, slag and oxides from metal surfaces. The compact 75 mm diameter provides good visibility and control in tight spaces, edge profiles and narrow surfaces.
The M6 mount allows for a sturdy and straight mounting in a drill chuck or suitable holder. The adjustable speed of the drill allows for controlled machining even on sensitive areas where the aggressiveness of an angle grinder would be excessive. The cup shape distributes the load evenly and reduces edge biting, resulting in a smooth, adhesion-enhancing microstructure on the surface before priming, coating or gluing.
Stainless steel wire is resistant to moisture and changing conditions, making the brush suitable for maintenance work on both indoor and outdoor surfaces. Using stainless steel wire reduces the risk of iron contamination on stainless steel surfaces compared to carbon steel wire. Proper use – light to moderate pressure, appropriate rotation range and pauses – will extend the service life and improve the quality of work.
Intended use:
Removing rust and paint from metal surfaces: The braided wire bites into firmly attached corrosion and layered coatings. The cup shape keeps the contact stable, allowing the work to proceed in a controlled manner and leaving a smooth mark for further processing. Suitable for railings, profiles, plates and machine parts.
Cleaning of welding spatter, slag and oxides: Before grinding, passivation or painting, the brush quickly removes spatter and oxide layers from heat zones without excessive removal of base material. Improves the uniformity of the machined surface and reduces the need for subsequent grinding.
Surface Roughening Before Coating/Adhesive Application: Mechanical roughening creates a microstructure that improves adhesion to coatings and adhesives. Particularly useful on smooth steel surfaces and stainless steel where cross-contamination is desired.
Maintenance in outdoor conditions: INOX wire is resistant to splashes and weather changes. Suitable for example for maintenance of stairs and railings, pre-cleaning of tanks and outdoor structures, and renovation projects.
(Note: The torque and speed control of a drill allows for smoother handling than an angle grinder, which is an advantage in tight spaces and on thin sheet metal.)
Features:
Diameter: 75 mm – Precision and good visibility in tight spaces.
Mounting: M6 – Direct and sturdy mounting in a drill chuck/adapter.
Bristle material: Stainless steel (INOX), braided – High aggressiveness and long life; reduces iron contamination.
Structure: Cup – Even contact, controlled material removal, less edge biting.
Applications: Rust, paint, slag, oxides – Pre-treatment before painting/coating/gluing.
Machine compatibility: Drill/cordless drill – Adjustable speed and controlled working.
Yato Cup brush M6 75 mm stainless steel braided – user manual:
Installation: Disconnect the drill from the battery/mains. Attach the brush directly and centrally to the M6 mounting or chuck. Make sure there is no play.
Test run: Run at idle speed briefly. Stop if vibration or “throw” is abnormal.
Working: Set a moderate speed. Hold the brush at a gentle angle and use light to moderate pressure; let the braided wire do the work. Avoid lingering in one spot to prevent overheating.
Pause and inspect: Stop regularly, remove loose material and assess wear. Replace the brush if the braids are unevenly worn or the cup is damaged.
Maintenance and storage: Clean from chips and dust, dry and store in a dry place. Do not forcefully straighten bent braids.
Warnings:
Always wear safety glasses/visors, a respirator suitable for the dust level, protective gloves and, if necessary, hearing protection.
Observe the permissible rotation range of the drill and brush; avoid imbalance.
Do not use a damaged, crooked or unbalanced brush.
Keep flammable materials away from the work area; sparks may be generated from the workpiece.
Not for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Keep out of reach of children.
Frequently Asked Questions, FAQ:
Can I use the brush on stainless steel? Yes. The stainless steel wire reduces cross-contamination from iron particles. Clean the surface after use.
Is it suitable for aluminum? Yes, for light deoxidation and roughening. Avoid excessive pressure and heat to avoid deep scratches on the surface.
Why braided wire? Braided wire is stiff and aggressive – it removes rust and slag faster than corrugated wire and is more resistant to point loads.
When should you replace your brush? When the braids have shortened unevenly, individual strands are missing or vibration increases – replace with a new one to ensure safety and quality.
