Yato Round Brush M14 100 mm brass is a crimped round brush for angle grinders, optimized for gentle but effective surface cleaning. Brass wire is softer than steel wire, which makes it easier to handle non-ferrous metals (e.g. copper, brass, aluminum) as well as coated and sensitive surfaces without deep scratches.
The round brush geometry provides stable contact for long straight strokes and edge brushing. The Ø100 mm diameter provides good coverage, and the M14 connection fits most 115-125 mm angle grinders. The inherent low sparking of brass and the absence of iron contamination make for cleaner work, especially on electrical and pipe components and in finishing applications.
The flexibility of the corrugated wire cuts evenly without the aggressiveness of the braided wire, which is an advantage in removing oxidation, paint and adhesive residues and light dirt. With the right working parameters – gentle angle, light to moderate pressure and recommended speed – a controlled, even microstructure is achieved before coating or bonding.

Intended use:

Removal of oxidation and surface contamination from non-ferrous metals: Brass wire removes copper and brass oxides and light aluminum oxide in a controlled manner. The end result preserves the surface profile, which is important for joining surfaces, decorative parts and electrical contacts, where surface condition affects functionality.

Gentle cleaning of paint and adhesive residues: The wavy wire removes weakly adhering layers from wood, soft metals and coated parts. The softer cut reduces the risk of over-roughening and leaves a uniform adhesion surface for the new coating or adhesive.

Cleaning threads, sealing surfaces and fittings: Dried compounds, surface rust and dirt can be removed without excessive rounding of the thread profile blades when the work is done with light pressure in even strokes. This facilitates assembly and subsequent maintenance.

Finishing delicate and coated surfaces: The brush is suitable for light cleaning of chrome, nickel or anodized surfaces when steel wire would be too aggressive. The brass reduces sparking and prevents iron particles from transferring to the surface.

Features:

Diameter: 100 mm – Good coverage for large surfaces while maintaining maneuverability.

Mounting: M14 thread – Compatible with most angle grinders; protective shield required.

Bristle material: Brass wire (crimped) – Softer cut; low sparking; no iron contamination.

Structure: Round brush – Even contact and controlled long strokes on edges and flat surfaces.

Applications: Oxidation, paint/glue residue, light dirt – Especially non-ferrous metals and sensitive surfaces.

RPM: Follow the maximum value marked on the product – Prevents overheating and premature wear.

Safety: Safety glasses/visor, respiratory protection and protective shield – To ensure safe working.

Yato Round Brush M14 100 mm brass – user manual:

Installation: Disconnect the angle grinder from the power supply. Attach the brush to the M14 thread and tighten according to the manufacturer's instructions. Ensure the correct position of the protective shield.

Test run: Rotate the brush at idle speed for a few seconds; stop if any unusual vibration, noise or throw occurs.

How to work: Hold the brush at a gentle angle and use light to moderate pressure. Use even strokes; avoid prolonged point contact and heat build-up.

Pause and check: Stop regularly, remove loose material and check the wires for wear. Replace the brush if wires are missing or vibration increases.

Maintenance: Clean from dust and shavings; dry and store in a dry place. Do not straighten twisted wires.

Warnings:

Always wear safety glasses/visors, a respirator suitable for the dust level, protective gloves and, if necessary, hearing protection.

Do not exceed the maximum speed allowed by the brush/machine.

Do not use a damaged or unbalanced brush.

Keep flammable materials away from the work area.

Not for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Keep out of reach of children.

Removing old coatings can release harmful substances - ensure effective local exhaust ventilation and suitable filters.

Frequently Asked Questions, FAQ:
Why choose brass wire over steel wire? Brass is softer, sparks less and is suitable for non-ferrous metals and for processing sensitive surfaces without the risk of iron contamination.
Can the brush be used on stainless steel? Yes, but the removal rate is less than with steel wire. Brass does not introduce iron particles to the surface, which helps maintain corrosion resistance.
Is it suitable for aluminum and threads? Yes. Light pressure and moderate speed cleans oxide and residue without rounding the thread profile blades.
When should you replace the brush? When there are missing threads, the hub is damaged, or vibration increases – replace with a new one to ensure safety and a smooth track.

Recycling instructions:

Packaging: Cardboard/paper - recycling; plastic films - plastic collection.
