Yato Round Brush M14 120 mm RST braided is a round brush for angle grinders, designed for heavy-duty cleaning. The braided (knotted) INOX wire bundles provide a stiff and biting cut that effectively removes thick rust, multi-layered paints, welding slag and oxide layers. The Ø120 mm diameter combines good coverage and speed on large surfaces.
The M14 thread is suitable for most common angle grinders in the 115–125 mm class. The RST wire reduces the risk of iron contamination on stainless steel surfaces and is resistant to humid conditions. The geometry of the round brush is advantageous on flat surfaces, when brushing along edges and over long distances, where a cup brush could leave a narrower contact zone.
With the right speed and technique — gentle angle, light to moderate pressure, and even sweeps — you can achieve a controlled, adhesion-enhancing roughness without unnecessary removal of base material. Regular breaks prevent overheating and extend the life of the brush.

Intended use:

Heavy duty rust and paint removal from large surfaces: Ø120 mm coverage area speeds up work on sheet steel, railings and frame structures. The braided bundles bite into old coatings and corrosion, leaving a uniform roughness for primer and coatings.

Cleaning and slag removal of the welding zone: The brush removes spatter and oxides from the heat zone before grinding, passivation or painting. The stiff braided wire withstands point loads and advances in a controlled manner along seams and corners.

Surface roughening before coating/gluing: Mechanical roughening creates a uniform microstructure that improves adhesion of coatings and adhesives. Particularly suitable for stainless steel and black steel surfaces when aggressive pre-treatment is desired.

Maintenance in outdoor and humid conditions: The corrosion resistance and low cross-contamination of INOX wire make the brush suitable for outdoor structures, tanks and steel parts of process equipment.

Features:

Diameter: 120 mm – Wide coverage and fast progress on large surfaces.

Mounting: M14 thread – Compatible with most angle grinders; protective shield required.

Bristle material: Stainless steel wire (INOX), braided (knotted) – Very aggressive cutting for thick rust and slag.

Construction: Round brush – Even contact and stable brushing for straight strokes.

Targets: Rust, paint, oxides, slag, spatter – Pre-cleaning and roughening before coating/painting.

RPM: Follow the maximum value marked on the product – To prevent overheating and damage.

Safety: Safety glasses/visor, respiratory protection, gloves, protective shield – To manage risks.

Yato Round brush M14 120 mm stainless steel braided – user manual:

Installation: Disconnect the angle grinder from the power supply. Attach the brush to the M14 thread and tighten according to the manufacturer's instructions. Check the condition and position of the protective shield.

Test run: Rotate the brush at idle speed; stop if any unusual vibration, noise or throw occurs.

How to work: Brush at a gentle angle, use light to moderate pressure and make even sweeping motions. Avoid prolonged, point-like contact.

Pause and check: Stop regularly, remove loose material and check for wear. Replace the brush if there are missing strands, uneven wear of the wire or damage to the hub.

Maintenance: Clean from dust and shavings; dry and store in a dry place. Do not straighten bent braids.

Warnings:

Always wear safety glasses/visors, a respirator suitable for the dust level, protective gloves and, if necessary, hearing protection.

Do not exceed the maximum speed allowed by the brush/machine.

Do not use a damaged or unbalanced brush.

Keep flammable materials away from sparking area.

Not for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Keep out of reach of children.

Frequently Asked Questions, FAQ:
When should I choose a round brush over a cup brush? A round brush is better for long, straight strokes and large flat surfaces; a cup brush works well for more point contact and targeted areas.
Why braided wire? Braided wire is stiff and biting, which speeds up the removal of thick rust and slag. Corrugated wire leaves a more moderate roughness, but removes more slowly.
Can the brush be used on stainless steel? Yes. INOX wire reduces iron contamination. Clean the surface after use.
Is it suitable for aluminum? For light deoxidation and roughening, yes. Use light pressure and avoid heat build-up.

Recycling instructions:
