Yato Round Brush M14 125 mm RST is a cup-shaped cleaning brush that can be attached to an angle grinder for mechanical pre-treatment of metal surfaces. The bristle package is made of stainless steel wire (INOX), which is suitable for humid conditions and reduces the risk of iron contamination on stainless surfaces. The cup shape distributes the load evenly, which makes it easier to handle large flat surfaces and edges.
The brush removes rust, flaking paint, oxide layers and light slag residues. At the same time, a uniform, adhesion-enhancing microstructure is created, which is beneficial for priming, coating or bonding. The M14 thread is compatible with most 115-125 mm angle grinders.
The use of stainless steel wire is justified in outdoor applications and maintenance: it tolerates splashes and weather changes. The brush also works for cleaning weld seams and for maintenance work on structures, railings and machine parts. The appropriate pressure and rotation range, together with regular breaks, maintain a controlled temperature and a consistent result.

Intended use:

Rust and paint removal from steel surfaces: Removes corrosion and loose coatings over large areas. The cup shape maintains a stable contact, keeping the base under control and improving adhesion of the next coating.

Cleaning of welding spatter and oxide layers: Suitable for seams and heat zones before further processing. Mechanical cleaning evens out the surface and makes it easier to sand, passivate or paint.

Maintenance in outdoor conditions: Stainless steel wire is resistant to moisture and salts, making the brush suitable for railings, stair parts, tanks and outdoor steel structures. The risk of cross-contamination is reduced compared to carbon steel wire.

Surface roughening before coating/gluing: Creates a smooth microstructure without heavy material removal; especially useful on smooth sheet surfaces and profiles.

(The aggressiveness used depends on the wire structure; corrugated wire = moderate, braided = aggressive. This model is a stainless steel wire cup brush.)

Features:

Diameter: 125 mm – Wide coverage for fast cleaning on flat surfaces and edges.

Mounting: M14 thread – Compatible with most angle grinders.

Bristle material: Stainless steel wire (INOX) – Reduces the risk of iron contamination and is resistant to moisture.

Structure: Cup (round brush cup model) – Stable contact and controlled material removal.

Application: Rust, paint, oxide, light slag – Pre-treatment before coating/painting.

Machine type: Angle grinder 115–125 mm – Use of a protective shield required.

Yato Round Brush M14 125 mm RST – user manual:

Installation: Disconnect the machine from the power supply. Screw the brush onto the M14 thread and tighten according to the manufacturer's instructions. Secure the protective shield.

Test run: Run at idle briefly; stop if abnormal vibration or “throwing” motion occurs.

How to work: Hold the brush at a slight angle and make even strokes. Use light to moderate pressure; let the brush do the work.

Pause: Stop regularly, remove loose material and assess wear. Avoid prolonged point contact.

Maintenance: Clean from dust and shavings, dry and store in a dry place. Replace the brush if the wire is unevenly worn or the cup is damaged.

Warnings:

Always wear safety glasses/visors, a respirator suitable for the dust level, protective gloves and, if necessary, hearing protection.

Do not exceed the speed allowed by the brush/machine.

Do not use a damaged or unbalanced brush.

Keep flammable materials away from the sparking area; sparks may be generated by the workpiece.

Not for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Keep out of reach of children.

Frequently Asked Questions, FAQ:
Can I use the brush on stainless steel? Yes. INOX wire reduces cross-contamination from iron particles. Clean the surface after treatment for best results.
Is the brush suitable for cleaning aluminum? Yes, for light deoxidation and roughening. Avoid excessive pressure and heat to avoid scratching the surface deeply.
What is the difference between a cup brush and a flap disc? A cup brush cleans and roughens without removing too much base material. A flap disc removes material faster, but can leave a deeper roughness.
When should the brush be replaced? When the wire has shortened unevenly, individual bundles break or damage is visible in the cup/vibration increases.

Recycling instructions:

Packaging: Cardboard/paper - recycling; any plastic films - plastic collection.
