Yato Round Brush M6 100 mm RST braided is a round brush for drilling machines, optimized for heavy cleaning. Braided (knotted) bundles of stainless steel wire form a stiff and biting brush surface, which effectively removes thick rust, flaking paint layers, welding slag and oxides. The geometry of the round brush ensures even contact in long straight strokes and in edge areas, allowing the speed of advancement and the uniformity of the mark to be controlled.
The Ø100 mm size combines good coverage and maneuverability. This size is a natural choice for sheet steel, profiles, railings and frame parts where aggressive cleaning and an adhesion-enhancing microstructure are desired before coating or painting. The M6 shank fits into a drill chuck, and the variable speed allows for process optimization depending on the material and the target.
Using INOX wire reduces the risk of cross-contamination from iron particles on stainless steel surfaces. It also withstands moisture and outdoor conditions better than carbon steel wire. With the right working technique – gentle angle, light to moderate pressure and even strokes – you can achieve a uniform, controlled roughness without unnecessary removal of base material.

Intended use:

Heavy duty rust and paint removal: The braided wire cuts through tight coatings and corrosion. The Ø100 mm coverage speeds up work on railings, tanks and sheet metal structures, leaving a smooth surface for the primer to adhere to. This reduces the need for separate sanding and shortens the overall process.

Welding zone cleaning and slag removal: The brush removes spatter and oxides from the heat zone before passivation or plating. The braided wire withstands point loads and works in a controlled manner on seams and edges, allowing for better control over the preservation of seam geometry.

Surface roughening before coating/gluing: Mechanical roughening creates a uniform microstructure to improve adhesion of coatings and adhesives. The direction of the brush stroke facilitates a repeatable, streak-like finish, which is useful on flat surfaces and over long stroke distances.

Pre-cleaning for maintenance in outdoor and humid conditions: The corrosion resistance and low cross-contamination of INOX wire make the brush suitable for outdoor structures and steel parts of process equipment. It works well before more detailed restoration steps such as sandblasting or chemical passivation.

Features:

Diameter: 100 mm – Good coverage and advancement over large surfaces.

Bristle material: Stainless steel wire (INOX), braided (knotted) – Very sharp cut for thick rust and slag.

Structure: Round brush – Stable contact on long straight strokes and in edge areas.

Targets: Rust, paint, oxides, slag, spatter – Pre-cleaning and roughening before coating/painting.

Speed: Follow the maximum speed marked on the product – Prevents overheating and damage.

Compatibility: Adjustable speed on drill – Allows process optimization according to material.

Yato Round brush M6 100 mm stainless steel braided – user manual:

Installation: Disconnect the drill from the battery/mains. Attach the brush to the chuck/adapter and ensure centering; tighten according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Test run: Rotate the brush at idle speed for a few seconds. Stop if any unusual vibration or “throwing” occurs.

Working: Maintain a gentle angle and apply light to moderate pressure. Use even strokes; avoid prolonged point contact and heat build-up.

Pause and check: Stop regularly, remove loose material and check the integrity of the braids. Replace the brush if bundles are missing or vibration increases.

Maintenance: Clean from dust and shavings; dry and store in a dry place. Do not straighten bent braids.

Warnings:

Always wear safety glasses/visors, a respirator suitable for the dust level, protective gloves and, if necessary, hearing protection.

Do not exceed the maximum speed allowed by the brush/drill.

Do not use a damaged or unbalanced brush.

Keep flammable materials away from the work area; sparks may be generated from the workpiece.

Not for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Keep out of reach of children.

Frequently Asked Questions, FAQ:
When should I choose a round brush over a cup brush? A round brush is better for long, straight strokes and large flat surfaces; a cup brush works for more point contact and targeted areas.
Why braided wire? Braided wire is stiff and biting, which speeds up the removal of thick rust and slag. Corrugated wire leaves a more moderate roughness, but removes more slowly.
Can the brush be used on stainless steel? Yes. INOX wire reduces the risk of iron contamination. Clean the surface after use.
Is it suitable for aluminum? For light deoxidation and roughening, yes; use light pressure and avoid heat build-up.

Recycling instructions:

Packaging: Cardboard/paper - recycling; plastic films - plastic collection.

Product: Metal hub and stainless steel wires - metal collection; other parts according to local guidelines.
