Yato Round Brush M6 100 mm RST is a stainless steel round brush for drilling machines for mechanical cleaning and pre-treatment of metal surfaces. Thanks to the wavy wire structure, the brush provides a controlled cut and reduces aggressiveness compared to braided wire, which is an advantage on large surfaces and thin sheet metal.
Ø100 mm diameter effectively covers larger areas while still maintaining reasonable accuracy. M6 mounting allows for sturdy mounting on a drill chuck or suitable adapter. Stainless steel (INOX) wire is resistant to moisture and outdoor conditions and reduces the risk of iron contamination on stainless substrates.
The brush removes rust, flaking paint layers and oxides and creates a uniform micro-roughness that improves the adhesion of primer, coating or adhesive. In maintenance areas – railings, stairs, machine parts, plate structures – the brush speeds up pre-cleaning and reduces the need for subsequent sanding.
Compared to cup or lamella products, a round brush works best on flat surfaces and when sweeping along edges. The correct rotation range and light to moderate pressure reduce heat load and extend service life.

Intended use:

Rust and paint removal: The corrugated wire cuts evenly without excessive material removal. On large steel and stainless steel surfaces, a uniform roughness is achieved, which improves primer adhesion and shortens the overall surface treatment time.

Cleaning oxides and spatter from welding areas: The brush removes heat-induced oxides and small spatters before grinding, passivation or painting. The flexibility of the corrugated wire reduces the formation of grooves and facilitates subsequent finishing.

Surface roughening before coating/gluing: Mechanical roughening creates a uniform microstructure and improves adhesion. Particularly suitable for smooth sheets and profiles where braiding would be unnecessarily aggressive.

Maintenance in outdoor conditions: The corrosion resistance of stainless steel wire allows for use in damp areas and outdoors. Particles released from the brush do not contribute to the formation of new rust spots like carbon steel wire.

Features:

Diameter: 100 mm – Good coverage for large surfaces, yet manageable with a drill.

Mounting: M6 – Direct and centered mounting to the drill chuck/adapter.

Bristle material: Stainless steel wire (INOX), crimped wire – Even, moderate aggressiveness and corrosion resistance.

Structure: Round brush – Suitable for flat surfaces and brushing along edges.

Targets: Rust, paint, oxides, light spatter – Pre-cleaning and roughening before coating.

Operation: Adjustable speed – Avoid overheating; use light to moderate pressure to ensure a smooth finish.

Yato Round Brush M6 100 mm RST – user manual:

Installation: Disconnect the drill from the power/battery. Attach the brush to the M6 mount/chuck straight and centrally; tighten according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Test drive: Run briefly in neutral; stop if abnormal vibration or wobble occurs.

How to work: Work at a gentle angle, using even strokes. Let the brush do the work; avoid point pressure and excessive heat.

Pause: Stop regularly, remove loose material and check for wear.

Maintenance: Clean from dust/chips, dry and store in a dry place. Do not forcefully straighten twisted wires.

Warnings:

Always wear safety glasses/visors, protective gloves, a respirator suitable for the dust level and, if necessary, hearing protection.

Do not exceed the speed allowed by the brush/machine; avoid imbalance.

Do not use a damaged or crooked brush.

Keep flammable materials away from the work area; sparks may be generated from the workpiece.

Not for use in explosive atmospheres. Keep out of reach of children.

Frequently Asked Questions, FAQ:
Why choose corrugated wire over braided wire? Corrugated wire is less aggressive and leaves a more uniform roughness on large surfaces. Braided wire is better for thick rust and slag.
Can I use the brush on stainless steel? Yes. INOX wire reduces the risk of iron contamination. Clean the surface after use.
Is the brush suitable for aluminum? For light deoxidation and roughening, yes. Avoid excessive pressure and heat to avoid scratching the surface.
When should you replace the brush? When the wire is unevenly worn, bundles are missing, or vibration increases, replace the brush to ensure safety and quality.

Recycling instructions:

Packaging: Cardboard/paper - recycling; any plastic films - plastic collection.
