Yato Round brush M6 75 mm stainless steel
Yato Round Brush M6 75 mm RST is a round brush made of stainless steel wire for drilling machines for mechanical cleaning and pre-treatment of metal surfaces. The crimped wire structure produces a moderate and even cut, which is suitable for large surfaces without excessive material removal. The compact Ø75 mm size allows for precise control in edges, corners and tight spaces.
Stainless steel wire (INOX) is resistant to moisture and outdoor conditions and reduces the risk of iron contamination on stainless steel surfaces. This is useful in maintenance applications where the surface needs to be prepared for coating, bonding or painting while maintaining the geometry of the base material.
The M6 mounting allows for direct and central mounting in a drill chuck or suitable adapter. The adjustable speed of the drill makes work on thin sheets and heat-sensitive surfaces manageable. With the right working parameters, brushing produces a uniform microstructure that improves the adhesion of primer and coatings.
Typical applications include removing rust and flaking paint residue from railings, stair parts, sheet metal structures and machine parts, cleaning oxide layers in welding areas and general pre-cleaning before chemical or mechanical finishing steps.
Intended use:
Removing rust and paint residue from metal surfaces: The corrugated wire opens up corrosion and weak coating layers, leaving a uniform roughness. The small diameter allows precise control in profiles and corners, which makes it easier to work on railings, stair parts and machine components. The work progresses in a controlled manner with light to moderate pressure and moderate speed.
Cleaning oxides and small spatters from weld areas: The brush removes oxides and spatters from heat zones before grinding, passivation or painting. The flexibility of the corrugated wire reduces the creation of deep grooves compared to more aggressive braided wire brushes, which speeds up subsequent finishing steps.
Surface roughening before coating/gluing: Mechanical roughening creates a uniform microstructure without heavy material removal. This improves the mechanical adhesion of primers, coatings and adhesives, especially on smooth sheet surfaces and thin profiles.
Maintenance in humid and outdoor conditions: The corrosion resistance of INOX wire allows it to be used on outdoor steel structures and in humid areas. The particles released from the brush do not contribute to the formation of new rust spots in the same way as carbon steel wire.
Features:
Diameter: 75 mm – Precise working in tight spaces and along edges.
Mounting: M6 – Direct and centered mounting to the drill chuck/adapter.
Bristle material: Stainless steel wire (INOX), crimped wire – Moderate aggressiveness and corrosion resistance.
Structure: Round brush – Suitable for flat surfaces and brushing along edges.
Applications: Rust, paint, oxide, light spatter – Pre-cleaning and roughening before coating.
Operation: Adjustable speed – Avoid overheating; use light to moderate pressure to ensure a smooth finish.
Yato Round Brush – User Manual:
Installation: Disconnect the drill from the battery/mains. Attach the brush to the M6 mount or chuck directly and centrally; tighten according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Test drive: Run briefly in neutral; stop if abnormal vibration or wobble occurs.
Working: Work at a gentle angle, make even strokes and let the wave wire do the work. Avoid point pressure and excessive heat.
Pause and clean: Stop regularly, remove loose material and check for wear.
Maintenance: Clean from dust/chips, dry and store in a dry place. Do not forcefully straighten twisted wires.
Warnings:
Always wear safety glasses/visors, protective gloves, a respirator suitable for the dust level and, if necessary, hearing protection.
Do not exceed the speed allowed by the brush/machine; avoid imbalance.
Do not use a damaged or crooked brush.
Keep flammable materials away from the work area; sparks may be generated from the workpiece.
Not for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Keep out of reach of children.
Frequently Asked Questions, FAQ:
Why corrugated wire and not braided wire? Corrugated wire is less aggressive and leaves a more uniform roughness on large surfaces; braided wire is more effective on thick rust and slag.
Can the brush be used on stainless steel? Yes. INOX wire reduces the risk of iron contamination. Clean the surface after use.
Is the brush suitable for aluminum? For light deoxidation and roughening, yes. Avoid excessive pressure and heat to avoid scratching the surface.
When should you replace the brush? When the wire is unevenly worn, bundles are missing, or vibration increases – replace it with a new one.
Recycling instructions:
Packaging: Cardboard/paper - recycling; any plastic films - plastic collection.
